Doctor Who S8 Robot of Sherwood

From IMDB:

In Sherwood Forest, the Doctor uncovers a sinister alien plot and forms an alliance with Robin Hood. With Nottingham at stake, the Doctor must decide who is real and who is fake.

Clara wants to meet Robin Hood but the Doctor says he's not real. She convinces him to go to about the time Robin Hood would be around anyway and it turns out Robin Hood is real! There's a duel between the Doctor and Robin Hood, Robin uses a sword and the Doctor fights him with a spoon. For some reason. The Doctor wins the duel and Robin Hood takes them to meet his band of Merry Men all the while The Doctor is analyzing their hair, blood and clothes because he can't accept that they're actually real. The stories are true though, there's an evil Sheriff oppressing the people, stealing their gold and forcing them to work. Apparently, he has robots at his command whose ship crash landed here and the need gold to repair it. The ship was trying to reach the Promise Land, just like the droids that harvest living creatures for spare parts and repairs. The Doctor starts a riot with the people forced to work and they destroy many of the robots. He still thinks that Robin Hood is a robot as part of the Sheriff's plans to give the people hope and a reason to keep going. Robin pops in to fight the Sheriff in a duel that ended the same way the Doctor beat Robin in their earlier duel. The robots' ship blasts off but doesn't have enough gold to reach orbit so Clara, Robin and The Doctor use the golden arrow to give the ship just enough gold to reach orbit and blow up out of harm's way.

Doctor Who was suggested for me to watch & react to by a friend. It is another sciencey show that I have never watched before. Oh look I haven't updated the description since season 2 and now we're on season 7! Lovin' it! Exciting first episode. Been 4 months since season 6 ended...sorry. Computer died, depression, existential crisis, business & new laptop/Windows 11 BS... but here we are!
