One Piece thoughts so far up to the Buggy story arc.

Hello friends I am DragoNate and welcome to another video on One Piece! Since reacting to Super Eye Patch Wolf's video about where to start with One Piece, I have been watching episodes and reading the digitally colored manga. I have not had a ton of time, so I have only gotten through the first 9 episodes, finishing the Buggy story arc and starting on the Usopp arc. I don't know much about that bit yet, so this video focuses on the Buggy arc and before it.

A lot of people were saying that One Piece starts off really slowly, but it didn't feel as such to me. I'm not disappointed about it, I'm actually pretty happy that there's a bit of action already and that so much has happened. I have my favorite parts and favorite non-main characters, bits that feel weird or strange and so on. My favorite parts so far are when Nami (unknown at the time) sees Alvida's ship and rushes back to the door she came out of. I loved all the parts with Shushu, the dog on the island Captain Buggy made his base and I really loved that part when Coby & all the marines saluted as Luffy & Zoro sailed away. My favorite characters so far include Coby & Shushu mainly. They are the ones I love right now!

One concept that I really enjoyed so far throughout the story, and it's talked about a lot during the interactions with Captain Buggy, is the idea of "treasure". Everyone has their own treasures and the word "treasure" means something different to different people. Treasure could simply be gold or jewels or other things with monetary value. This is the case for Nami & Buggy. Shushu has his own treasure and fought hard to protect it. Zoro's treasure is his pride and Luffy's is his hat because it was given to him by someone very important to him.

I really like it because it gives depth to the story instead of simply having concepts and ideas that are black & white; one thing or another and nothing else. It's this part of One Piece that I like the most so far.
