To meet and hang out with people I've known for YEARS online and it was awesome!

This is my USA travel vlog.

So at the beginning of October, I took a trip to the USA to meet a bunch of people I've known, worked with and become friends with online since 2020. We have a weekly hangout thing called The WIP Meetup‪@thewipmeetup‬ and another place for online hangouts ‪@tokensmart‬. Italk to many of them pretty much daily and one of them, Rizzle, had his own mini event called Rizzlefest. It's nothing major, just a fun camping hangout with each other. We had art classes, canoeing, fishing, basketball, toy building sessions, a mini scavenger hunt, music, tons of campfire time and a small parkour class run by me! It was such a great time, I had tons of fun and I'm super glad I went! This was only the first part of my trip which was about 4 or 5 days in Nashville.

From Nashville, I went to Miami Beach to meet and hang out with another friend I've known for over half a decade, a YouTuber friend named Jay ‪@WPguru‬ and his wife Julia! That was also super fun! The day I was supposed to go, my mother was worried about hurricane Milton which was heading towards Florida around then. I sat around at the airport for the majority of the day because everyone was leaving the camp early in the morning and my flight wasn't until around 5pm. During that time, I was struggling with whether or not I should stick to the plan and go to Miami while there's a hurricane on the way or not and figure something else out. Mom's worried, telling me she doesn't want me to go, my cousin, who I thought would tell her not to worry so much, also said "better safe than sorry", my friend Kroko said "bad idea, Floridians are used to it, you're not", Luke (who took me to Portugal earlier this year) said airlines are mega risk averse so if the flight isn't cancelled, it's highly likely it's safe and one more friend said to follow my gut. My gut said to stick to the plan. Jay and Julia called and reassured me as well and they're tracking the storm a lot and wouldn't tell me it's fine if it wasn't fine. So I went and I'm very glad I did. Mom was glad I chose to go as well :)

funny coincidence: the whole entire time on the flight there, the chorus of Adele's Rolling in the Deep was STUCK in my head. Why? I don't know. Hadn't heard it in a long time. After getting off the plane and navigating my way out of the maze of an airport with instructions from my poor Uber driver who waited an extra 12 minutes for me, guess what song was playing on his radio? That's right, Adele's Rolling in the Deep... Psychic? Maybe... JK but it's super strange and very interesting. Why can't I manifest 25 million dollars instead of a freaking song though?!

Anyway, we spent time at the beach, eating good food and their apartment. It was great!

From Miami, I flew to Portland, Oregon to hang out a bit with one of the people who was at the camp in Nashville and walked around the city a bit, saw the rose gardens and the City of Books. Then I came home where I was subjected to a secondary examination because I was somehow suspicious. The CBSA invaded my privacy with excessive amounts of questioning, a disgusting "YoU sEeM nErVoUs, WhAt'S uP?" question that you have to lack a brain to ask, digging through all my stuff to find absolutely nothing, calling me "uncooperative" for asking one question 25 times because she refused to answer it and kept stalling to think of a sensible response. I was basically treated like a criminal for wanting to leave my country to go on vacation... Full video on that eventually.

Trip was good.

Coming back was not.

This is my 2nd trip outside my home country Chinazida.
